The houses are individually designed in a variety of different styles and proportions, to complement the existing built environment and landscape around Malpas. The building materials specified are to be traditional, e.g. red Cheshire brick or painted rendering to walls, natural slate or plain clay tiled roofs, and painted timber window frames and doors.

The existing public footpath, trees and hedges which cross the site are to be retained, along with extensive additional landscaping.
